How Dubbel works

Common questions

Dubbel asks for Screen Time access. Why?
That is the only way an iPhone app can restrict other apps. You grant it to yourself, for yourself. Dubbel never learns the names of the apps you pick as text; Apple hands it opaque tokens. See the privacy policy.

I see a grey Apple screen instead of Dubbel's note.
Open Dubbel once so it can refresh the lock; if it persists, end the lock and start it again. If it still happens, send us the diagnostic export from Settings and the time it happened.

I locked a website and the app of the same service got blocked too.
That is how iOS treats websites: locking instagram.com also restricts the Instagram app. When you pass through Dubbel's screen for an app, the night's websites are released together with it.

Can I end a lock early?
Yes. Open the locked app and go through Dubbel's screen, or end everything from Settings › Beta. Deleting Dubbel also removes every lock. We don't try to prevent that; the point is the pause, not the prison.

Where is my data?
On your phone, nowhere else. There is no account to log into and no backup on our side. "Delete all data" in Settings removes everything.

Subscriptions, refunds, cancellation.
Purchases go through Apple. Manage or cancel in iOS Settings › your name › Subscriptions. Refunds are requested from Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com.

TestFlight.
If you are testing a beta build, the TestFlight app has a "Send Beta Feedback" button that attaches a screenshot and device details. Email works too.

Reporting a problem

Tell us your iPhone model, iOS version, what you did, what you expected and what happened. If a lock misbehaved, the diagnostic export from Settings helps a lot; it contains technical events only, never your notes.
